Areas of Specialization

The undergraduate electrical and computer engineering program at OSU prepares each graduate for a life-long professional career. During the first two years students complete a program consisting of mathematics, physical sciences, engineering sciences, and selected courses in the humanities and social sciences. During the final two years of the program, each student gains both breadth in electrical and computer engineering as well as depth in a specific area of specialization.  This "breadth on top of depth" approach ensures students master both the fundamentals of electrical and computer engineering, but also gain experience in applying advanced concepts to non-trivial design problems.  Students may elect from the following areas of specialization:

A general engineering option is also offered. In each of the areas of specialization specific elective courses assure that students are exposed to design experience, key to success in the workplace. The design experience leads to two major design courses at the senior level.
