Actions Following input from any of our constituency or by analyzing assessment data, ECEN may decide that changes in the curriculum or program are needed. These are not undertaken lightly since there is a tremendous amount of time and effort involved. Specific actions take place at both the program level and the area of specialization and course level. Actions are suggested by the ABET committee after review of assessment data, by individual areas of specialization, or by any of the constituencies. Requests for changes to the program, curriculum, or courses are submitted to the undergraduate program committee to review their impact on the ECEN program as a whole and to ensure compliance with university regulations. This committee works in consultation with the ABET committee to analyze the impact on the ECEN curriculum. Following review the undergraduate program committee may recommend three courses of action: the proposed change be implemented, the proposed change be implemented after revision, or the change be rejected. Any changes which impact courses which are not specific to students in a singele area of specialization must be approved by the ECEN faculty at a scheduled faculty meeting. |
